As part of the course curriculum, Virginia Tech Army ROTC cadets meet every Tuesday afternoon from 3:30 p.m. to 5:20 p.m. to conduct hands-on training.  During this time the cadets, supervised by the senior cadets and cadre, apply basic army skills and tactics learned in the Military Science classes during the academic year.  This time is also used to evaluate the leadership techniques and qualities of all cadets in order to improve an individual's abilities.
