Field Training Exercises During the academic year all cadets participate in field training exercises (FTXs) conducted in the Jefferson National Forest during the fall semester and Kentland Farms during the spring semester. The fall FTX is an all weekend event, we leave late Friday after classes and return Sunday afternoon. During this time freshman and sophomores go through task training and some lanes while the juniors are evaluated by cadre in leadership roles while conducting squad tactics during combat conditions. The spring FTX is an all day event in which we leave early Saturday morning and return that evening. During the day all juniors conduct platoon tactics with freshman and sophomores in the platoons. The juniors are evaluated for there leadership qualities during combat conditions. The purpose of the FTX's are to prepare the juniors for LDAC that summer and to train the freshman and sophomores on basic Army skills. Visit the picture gallery to see more FTX pictures. |
